Privacy Policy

Last updated:

1. Scope

This policy explains how Libérons processes personal information related to liberons.com, Libérons accounts, the iOS app, Libérons Cloud, support and billing. Libérons is offered internationally, and mandatory protections in your country or region continue to apply where they cannot legally be waived.

2. Data we process

  • Account: email address, internal identifiers, authentication information, sessions and recovery.
  • Content: photos, videos, documents and other files you choose to protect, together with technical information required to transfer, organize, restore and delete them.
  • Storage: plan, available capacity, usage, protection status, restores, deletions and library consistency.
  • Device and security: platform, versions, authorized technical information, IP address, activity, logs and security events.
  • Billing: plan, subscription, transaction references, amounts, currency and payment events. Libérons does not retain your full payment-card number.
  • Support: requests, conversations, attachments and history needed to resolve them.

3. Photos, videos and files

Access to your photo library and files depends on permissions granted on your device. Some analysis used to identify, select or prepare items may occur locally. Only items you choose to protect are transferred to Libérons Cloud through the relevant features.

Protected photos and videos are organized in their corresponding Libérons Library sections. Other supported documents and file formats are available under Protected Files. Changing or removing a system permission may limit functionality without automatically deleting copies already protected in Libérons Cloud.

4. Protection and removal of originals

When a feature offers to remove an original from the device after protection, Libérons treats protection and local removal as separate operations. Removal is requested only after protection of the relevant item has been confirmed. System-level permissions and recovery mechanisms, including recently deleted items where available, continue to apply.

5. Purposes

Information is used to create and secure accounts, provide storage, protect and restore content, calculate capacity, organize the library, manage subscriptions, provide support, improve service reliability, diagnose errors, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations and protect Libérons and its users.

Libérons does not sell your photos, videos or files and does not use them for targeted advertising.

6. Legal bases and consent

Depending on jurisdiction, processing may rely on performance of a contract, requested pre-contract steps, consent, legal obligations or recognized legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for the future.

7. Technical service providers

Libérons relies on specialized providers for functions necessary to operate the service, including hosting, authentication, storage infrastructure, service delivery, security and payment processing. Providers receive only the information necessary for their role and are subject to applicable contractual, technical and organizational safeguards.

The architecture and providers may evolve to improve security, reliability or performance without changing rights guaranteed to you by law.

8. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, Libérons uses or requires recognized transfer mechanisms and appropriate contractual, technical or organizational safeguards.

9. Security

Libérons uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to risk, including authentication, access controls, encrypted communications, server-side restrictions, logging and protection of sensitive operations. No connected service can guarantee zero risk.

10. Privacy incidents

When an incident involving personal information is detected, Libérons assesses its scope, takes reasonable containment and remediation measures, and provides notifications to individuals or authorities where required by law.

11. Retention, subscriptions and recovery periods

Data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain security, handle transactions and disputes, and meet legal obligations. The end, failure or interruption of a subscription does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of content. Where Libérons provides a recovery or grace period, users may have that period to restore access or retrieve content before the announced measures take effect.

Technical backups and information required for security, accounting, fraud prevention or legal claims may be retained temporarily or for the legally necessary period.

12. Deletion and account closure

You may use available features to delete content or request account closure. Proportionate verification may be required before a sensitive operation. Once deletion becomes final, it may be irreversible.

Deletion requests do not extend to information that law requires or permits us to retain for legal obligations, transactions, security, fraud prevention or disputes, to the extent necessary.

13. Cookies, sessions and local storage

The website uses mechanisms necessary for authentication, security, sessions and continuity of certain preferences. Where a non-essential technology requires consent or a choice, it is handled according to applicable rules. Clearing browser data may sign you out but does not cancel a subscription.

14. Fraud and abuse prevention

Libérons may process technical logs, authentication events, device information, payment states and capacity-related operations to detect unauthorized access, circumvention, abusive account creation, attacks, fraud and errors.

15. Legal disclosures

Information may be disclosed where required by valid law, order or legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect safety, prevent fraud, enforce rights or respond to an emergency, within legal limits.

16. Your rights

Depending on your territory, you may have rights of access, copy, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, portability, restriction, objection, information about recipients and complaint to an authority. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.

Requests may be sent to support@liberons.com from the email address associated with your account. Libérons will never ask for your password or full payment-card number to exercise a privacy right.

17. Regional protections

Mandatory rights applicable in Canada and Québec, the European Union and EEA, the United Kingdom, the United States where local legislation applies, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and other territories where Libérons is used remain available and are not replaced by this policy.

18. Minors

Libérons is not intended for a person who cannot legally consent to the necessary processing or enter the terms without required authorization. Appropriate measures may be taken when a situation contrary to applicable rules is brought to our attention.

19. Founder and contact

Libérons is a service founded and operated in Canada by Freddy Mboma. This identification is intentionally grouped here so the service remains presented primarily under the Libérons brand while clearly identifying the person responsible where necessary.

For privacy, account or rights-related requests, contact support@liberons.com.

20. Changes

This policy may be updated as the service, its features, practices or legal requirements evolve. Material changes are communicated through an appropriate method where required by law.
