1. Scope and acceptance
These terms govern liberons.com, Libérons accounts, the iOS app, Libérons Cloud and related services. By creating an account, using Libérons or subscribing to a plan, you accept these terms and the policies they reference. Mandatory protections in your country or region remain applicable where they cannot legally be waived.
2. The Libérons service
Libérons lets you protect, store, view, manage and recover personal photos, videos and files. Depending on the feature used, you may select items from Photos or Files, analyze a folder, protect a selection, keep the original on your device or request removal of the original after protection.
Protected photos and videos appear in their corresponding Library sections. Other protected file types appear in Protected Files. Libérons considers an item protected only after its copy in Libérons Cloud has been confirmed.
3. Protection and local deletion
Protection in Libérons Cloud and removal of the original from the iPhone are separate operations. When Libérons offers removal after protection, that action must only be offered after protection of the relevant item has been confirmed. You remain responsible for deletions you confirm in Photos, Files or device settings.
4. Very large Photos deletions
Deleting several thousand protected originals at once can place significant demand on Photos and the iPhone. For more than 4,000 items, Libérons recommends working progressively: begin with groups of about 500 items, allow each operation to finish and confirm that the device remains responsive. As the remaining collection becomes smaller and processing remains stable, you may move to groups of about 1,000 items.
This is an operational recommendation, not a Libérons storage limit. Before emptying Recently Deleted, always verify that content you intend to keep is protected and accessible in Libérons.
5. Files and folders
Libérons may let you select folders or files accessible through iOS, including documents, PDFs, images, videos, audio and archives. Availability may depend on file format, location, permissions and iOS or the relevant file provider. “Delete without protecting” is separate from Libérons protection and may remove selected originals without copying them to Libérons Cloud.
6. Account and security
You must have the legal capacity required to use the service or the necessary authorization. You are responsible for accurate account information, access to your email and protection of your credentials. Libérons may request reasonable verification before sensitive operations.
7. Plans and capacity
Libérons offers a free plan and multiple paid storage plans. The applicable capacity, price, currency and billing frequency are those displayed when subscribing or changing plans. Available capacity takes existing usage into account. Circumventing quotas, manipulating subscription status or abusing account creation is prohibited.
8. Payment and automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions recur automatically at the displayed frequency until cancelled. By confirming a subscription, you authorize the corresponding recurring charges to an accepted payment method, subject to any additional disclosures or rights required by law. Libérons does not store your full card number.
9. Cancellation and plan changes
You may stop renewal using the available account-management tools. Uninstalling the app, signing out or removing a device does not cancel a subscription. Unless applicable law provides otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Reducing capacity may pause new protection when current usage exceeds the new capacity; Libérons does not automatically delete content merely to fit a lower plan.
10. Failed payments, regularization and retention
When a subscription payment fails, Libérons may place the account in a 7-day regularization period. During this period, new protection may be paused and some recovery functions may be limited. Existing protected content is not erased merely because of the initial payment failure.
If payment remains unresolved after that period, access to certain features, including restoration, may be suspended. An additional 20-day retention period may then apply before affected content is deleted. If the subscription is regularized before that retention period expires, scheduled deletion is cancelled. Additional protections required by law remain applicable.
11. Your content
You retain your rights to your content and must have the right to store it. You grant only the technical permissions necessary to provide the service, including receiving, storing, transmitting, displaying and restoring your content. Libérons does not claim ownership of your photos, videos, documents or other personal files.
12. Prohibited uses
You may not use Libérons for unlawful activity, illegal content, infringement, fraud, attacks, malware, security or quota circumvention, abusive automation, impersonation or any use that may compromise the service or its users.
13. Suspension and closure
Libérons may take proportionate measures, including restriction or suspension, in cases of fraud, material breach, security risk, legal obligation or seriously harmful use. Where circumstances and law allow, reasonable notice or an opportunity to resolve the issue may be provided.
14. Availability and service evolution
Libérons may experience maintenance, slowdowns, network interruptions or incidents affecting certain services. Features, security measures and service providers may evolve, subject to obligations applying to active subscriptions.
15. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Libérons is not responsible for content never successfully protected, deletion expressly confirmed by the user, credentials compromised due to the user, prohibited use or events reasonably beyond its control.
16. Intellectual property
Libérons software, interface, brand, graphics and documentation, excluding user content and third-party materials, are protected. Use of the service does not transfer ownership of those elements.
17. Consumer protection and governing law
Mandatory consumer protections in Canada and Québec, the EU/EEA, United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and other applicable territories remain available. The service is operated from Canada. To the extent permitted, Canadian and applicable provincial law govern without removing mandatory local consumer rights or remedies.
18. Privacy and refunds
Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy. Refund requests and applicable rights are described in the Refund Policy.
19. Changes and communications
These terms may be updated to reflect changes to the service, security, commercial practices or law. Where a material change requires notice, consent or a cancellation option, Libérons applies the applicable requirements.
20. Founder and contact
Libérons is a service founded and operated in Canada by Freddy Mboma. Questions about these terms may be sent to support@liberons.com.
